stand by me is another example of a group of people who interact a certain way. though stand by me doesn't work on stereotypes like the breakfast club, each character brings someone new to it which creates great interaction. i liked the idea that if you lined up the characters from stand by me, you could easily point out the strongest character, as well as the weekest. it's the way the characters were established at the beginning of the film. i wanted to have that with my characters as well. i wanted people watching to know who the strongest and most dominant character was. i wanted the viewer to realise how someone felt about someone else. i think it's important, especially in the pilot episode, to establish how everone feels and how the respond to one another. stand by me does this brilliantly.
